Declaring a major in Chemistry

  • Current students interested in the Chemistry major should connect with a major advisor as soon as possible.
  • Students declare majors by the end of sophomore year or at 45 earned credits

Course Planning for Chemistry

  • Courses to complete in the first year, in order to Â鶹ӰÊÓ in four years
    • CHEM 220+Lab and CHEM 230+Lab
    • MATH 125 and 226*
      *Need math placement level 2 or higher. If math level 1, prioritize MATH 122 and 125 in the first year and then take Chem 220 and CHEM 230 in the second year.
  • Courses to complete in the second year, in order to Â鶹ӰÊÓ in four years
    • CHEM 300+Lab and CHEM 400+Lab
    • 1 year of physics recommended but it can be taken third year if necessary
