Admission Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college of university.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA overall and 3.25 GPA in prerequisite courses strongly recommended.
- Prerequisite coursework. Students who hold an underÂ鶹ӰÊÓ degree in communication sciences and disorders are likely to have completed the prerequisites. Those with underÂ鶹ӰÊÓ degrees in a different field may need to consider a post-baccalaureate certificate in communication sciences and disorders to complete required courses.
- A minimum of 25 hours of clinical observation with an ASHA-certified speech-language pathology, with appropriate documentation
- Demonstrated English language proficiency, for students whose first language is not English.
- Completed CSDCAS application, including personal statement, transcripts, résumé information, etc.
- An application fee. The CSDCAS application fee is $125 for the first Â鶹ӰÊÓ program applied to and $50 for each additional Â鶹ӰÊÓ program
- No GRE required! GRE scores will not be considered as part of your admissions review.
Admission to the Â鶹ӰÊÓ program in SLP is highly competitive. Meeting the minimum thresholds below does not guarantee admission.

How to Apply
- Learn about the speech-language pathology program at Â鶹ӰÊÓ. Attend an informational or application assistance session in the fall (dates will be listed below as available) and connect with our dedicated admissions counselor.
- Complete your clinical observation. Applicants must have a documented 25 hours of clinical observation with a speech-language pathologist before beginning the SLP program.
- Apply online using the by Jan. 15. Your application will include:
- Official transcripts from each college of university attended. To allow ample processing time, submit your official transcripts to CSDCAS by Dec. 1.
- Latest grades. If you are completing your underÂ鶹ӰÊÓ degree and submitted your transcripts prior to fall grades being posted, you will need to complete the "academic update" after Dec. 15.
- A personal statement.
- Your résumé information, including relevant work and volunteer experience, research, and other extracurricular activities or accomplishments.
- Contact information for a minimum of three academic or professional references who will complete a letter of reference for you. Academic references that can speak to your potential in a Â鶹ӰÊÓ program are the strongest. Work references who can speak to your professionalism also are acceptable.
- Demonstrated English language proficiency, if English is not your first language.
Application Assistance
The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders faculty, staff and students host "What Do You Want To Know Wednesdays" for prospective students. These sessions take place throughout the fall and cover topics such as the learning experience, financial aid, and application help.

What's Next
- Application Review. As part of our holistic review process, faculty members from the School of CSD review each complete application in detail.
- Interviews. Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in an individual interview. School of CSD faculty members interview qualified applicants together with a community partner to help us learn more about you. Community partners include regional employers, community supervisors, alumni, and/or members of the broader university community. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about Â鶹ӰÊÓ and the speech-language pathology program. Interviews are conducted in the month of February.
- Offers of Admission. Following the interviews, the Admissions Committee will discuss each applicant and make one of three initial offers: admission, waitlist, or denial. Applicants are notified of admission status in early March.
- Acceptance. We ask that each applicant who is offered admission reply to us by April 15. We do not release waitlist rankings; the waitlist remains open until the first day of classes.
