Engineering is a broad field with many specializations, including civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, and chemical engineering.

Engineers are consistently in demand, and valued for their math, science and analytical skills. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the engineering sector is from 2021 to 2031, and add about 91,300 new jobs over the decade. In 2022, the for engineers was $94,670.

At Â鶹ӰÊÓ, you can pursue a career in engineering through two pathways, depending on your interests and career goals:

  • Engineering dual-degree program. Students earn two bachelor's degrees in five years, one in a natural sciences discipline from Â鶹ӰÊÓ, such as engineering science or physics, and one in engineering from another university. This option is a good fit for students who want to specialize in a specific area of engineering. We have transfer agreements to streamline the process with partner institutions Portland State University and Case Western Reserve University.
  • Engineering physics major. Engineering physics Â鶹ӰÊÓs are qualified to take engineering exams, apply to Â鶹ӰÊÓ school, or enter the workforce in a variety of roles and industries. This program is a good option for students who want a strong foundation in the fundamentals of engineering and physics that are not limited to one engineering specialization. It is also a good option for student-athletes who would like to participate in athletics for all four years of their program.

As a student in Pacific’s challenging and rewarding engineering degree programs, you will:

  • Take courses with hands-on, active learning in labs, beginning in your first year.
  • Collaborate with students and faculty as part of a supportive and diverse community.
  • Work with engaged faculty dedicated to your success.
  • Participate in research through courses and a self-directed senior capstone project.
