Why Study Theatre?

Collaborate with passionate peers, guided by award-winning professionals, to bring stories to life on the grand stage.

In Pacific’s theatre program, you will perform, design, devise, write plays, direct, and study the literature and history of world theatre.

  • Work with guest directors and instructors from the professional theatre and participate in as many as four main-stage productions each year, plus student-produced LunchBox performances.
  • Take advanced classes on such specialized topics such as gender & performance, stagecraft, and playwriting.
  • Learn from faculty who are award-winning professionals in their field and committed educators.
  • Gain real-world experience through internships, productions, shadowing and working with professionals in paid and credited jobs.

Study with Experts

Pacific’s theatre program faculty are all award-winning professionals in their fields, who maintain careers in performing, directing, playwriting, and design. Additionally, the theatre program brings in guest directors and instructors from the region’s top theatres, who become important mentors and connections for our students as they enter the profession. As our students go on to internships and jobs in the performing arts, they often point to their experiences with Pacific’s theatre program faculty and guest artists as important steps toward this success.
