How to Apply
- Explore Athletic Training: We recommend you have 50 hours of work, volunteer or observation experience under the supervising of a current practicing certified athletic trainer before you apply. The Admissions committee encourages seeking volunteer or observation in a variety of settings, such as high schools, colleges or universities, professional teams, hospitals or clinics, performing arts groups, the military or occupational/industrial settings.
- Talk to an Admissions Counselor: Contact our dedicated admissions counselor to learn more about the athletic training program. You also can talk to our Student Ambassadors to learn what it’s like to be a Pacific student.
- Apply through the ATCAS: Submit your application online through the ATCAS system. Your application will include:
- Transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended.
- Two letters of recommendation. At least one recommendation should come from a certified athletic trainer with whom you have worked, volunteered or observed. If possible, the second should be from an athletic trainer, college faculty member, or employer.
- Personal essays. You will need to complete the ATCAS personal statement, as well as Pacific’s program-specific supplemental essay (approximately 500 words).
- English proficiency scores, if applicable.
- Attend a virtual interview: Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in a virtual interview. The interview provides an opportunity for you to get to know Pacific and for the Admissions Committee to learn more about your knowledge of the profession, motivation for your athletic training career, ability to think clearly and logically, self-confidence and verbal expression of ideas.

3:2 Pathway
Â鶹ӰÊÓ underÂ鶹ӰÊÓ students can opt for a kinesiology major that leads directly into the athletic training program. The kinesiology-athletic training 3:2 pathway combines the senior year of undergrad and first year of the master's program into one, allowing students to earn a bachelor's and master's in just five years.
