Admissions Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college. Degree may be underway at the time of application but must be completed before beginning the PT program.
- GPA: The prerequisite GPA must be 3.0 or higher at the time of application.
- Prerequisite Coursework: Complete all prerequisite courses form a regionally accredited institution with a grade of C or better before the program start date.
- Essential Functions: Fulfill the required .
- Observation Hours: At least 50 verified observation hours with a licensed physical therapist is required. We encourage applicants to obtain at least 100 hours of paid or volunteer observation hours with a practicing, licensed physical therapist in various settings. Applicants can strengthen their application for our program by completing observation hours in more than one clinic location and observing various patient populations.
- Demonstrated English proficiency, for international students.
- PTCAS Application: Complete an online application through the . Your application will include two letters of recommendation.
- No GRE Required! Scores will not be considered as part of the application process.

- Strength and breadth of the academic record
- PT observation experience
- Strength of letters of recommendation
- Personal Interview
- Professionalism and communication demonstrated throughout the admissions process and interview
- Demonstration of leadership abilities
- The quantity and quality of extracurricular and community activities
- Demonstration of interpersonal sensitivity and global citizenship
- Understanding of the physical therapy profession
- Quality of writing ability as demonstrated in the application essay responses

How to Apply
- Create your PTCAS account and complete your online application. Your application will include:
- GPA: The prerequisite GPA is based on the graded prerequisite courses completed at the time of application. Courses from the fall of your application term will not be used, because grades will not be available before the application deadline.
- Observation Experience: A licensed physical therapist must electronically verify documented observation hours via PTCAS.
- Two Letters of Recommendation: One recommendation must be from a licensed physical therapist. It is recommended that the second letter of recommendation should be from another licensed PT, a college faculty member, a supervisor, or an employer. Both letters of recommendation must be received before your PTCAS application can be verified. We recommend requesting your letters of recommendation early to avoid delays.
- Personal Statement: This is your voice in the application process. This statement should not be repeated or rephrased within the Â鶹ӰÊÓ program-specific essay questions in PTCAS.
- Optional Essay: The optional essay is an opportunity to provide any additional information about yourself for consideration, including explanations for any prerequisite or coursework issues.
- Official College and University Transcripts: Official transcripts from every institution you have attended should be submitted directly to PTCAS. Request your transcripts early to avoid delays.
- Reapplicants: Please note the additional required essay question for re-applicants within our program-specific questions in PTCAS.
- Attend Interview: Select applicants will be invited to participate in an interview. Apply before the priority deadline to be eligible for the fall interview dates. Interviews are offered virtually and in person at the Â鶹ӰÊÓ Hillsboro Campus.

- Complete a Background Check | Â鶹ӰÊÓ requires criminal background checks. The background check is required to determine students’ qualifications to provide services. Background checks take place after admission and deposit, and a criminal record may disqualify a previously admitted student. In addition, drug screenings are required prior to the start of clinical practicum placements.
