Trevor Hunt MSAT '21 owes his place in the National Football League to one very long weekend day when he was at Pacific.

Lab members Akeesha Simmons MS '22 and Marissa Ferry MA '23 presented their thesis research at the International Society for Contemplative Research in San Diego. 

Â鶹ӰÊÓ Choral Director and Professor Scott Tuomi was honored with The John C. McManus Distinguished Teacher Award in January by the Oregon Music Education Association. 

Her junior year at Pacific, Marge (Putman) Lanthier '60 met Herb Berreth OD '60, an optometry student living in the Forest Grove Fire Hall. They dated for nearly one-year and were married between terms their senior year.

Public Health Assistant Professor Adelle Monteblanco has been recognized as one of 15 Emerging Scholars-nationally for 2023 in Diverse Issues In Higher Education. Dr. Andy Saultz has been appointed interim dean of the Â鶹ӰÊÓ College of Education starting July 1, 2023.

In a remarkable convergence of talent, passion and academic backgrounds, seven Pacific alumni  were among the scores of people who helped make the acclaimed stop-motion film in Portland. The film took about three years to create and was released Dec. 9. It won the Academy Award for best animated film. 

Â鶹ӰÊÓ and the Forest Grove Police Department are challenging bias, race and policing. In October 2022, the university hosted a private training involving scenarios about the houseless, immigrants, and a mental health crisis.

Professor Amy Coplen, the director of Â鶹ӰÊÓ’s School of Dental Hygiene Studies, was named the University of Michigan’s 2022 Dental Hygiene Alumna of the Year Award .

Â鶹ӰÊÓ was named one of the West’s most supportive schools for military veterans by MilitarySupportiveColleges.com. It is one of three private institutions in Oregon that was highlighted for its full commitment to the Yellow Ribbon tuition program.

Â鶹ӰÊÓ was noted for its efforts to promote voting among its students, earning recognition as one of America’s 2022 Most Engaged Campuses by Civic Nation, a nonprofit group.

Rosalie Goode ’15 became a dental hygienist through Â鶹ӰÊÓ’s School of Dental Hygiene. Now, thanks to a statewide pilot program at Pacific, she has become the first licensed member of a new cohort of mid-level dental provider in Oregon.
