Corey Hedger '18, MAT '19 wanted a small community and a small school where he would get the most out of his education while also being challenged every day.
After studying history at 鶹Ӱ as an under鶹Ӱ, he decided to continue in the fifth-year master of arts in teaching program because of its prestige in the field of education.
“I loved my time at Pacific, and I would do the MAT all over again if I could,” Hedger said.
Now, he teaches social studies at Bonanza Junior/Senior High School in Bonanza, Ore., where he’s also yearbook and student government advisor.
“This is the best profession in the world and you will make an impact in a student’s life,” he said.
Pacific’s flexible master of arts in teaching programs offer a variety of pathways to a preliminary teaching license, with full-time and hybrid options.
