Seasonal Affective Disorder

It can be difficult to adjust to living in the rainy and cloudy Pacific Northwest, particularly when moving here from a sunnier clime. Do you feel like you have the "winter blues?"  (SAD) is a type of clinical depression with a recurring seasonal pattern, rather than a separate disorder. To be diagnosed with SAD, people must meet full criteria for major depression coinciding with specific seasons (appearing in the winter or summer months) for at least two years; seasonal depressions must be much more frequent than any non-seasonal depressions.
