Huelva is a city in southwestern Spain, the capital of the in the autonomous community of . Huelva had a population of 149,410 in 2010. The Province of Huelva is situated in the South West Corner of Spain, with Portugal to the West, Seville and Cadiz to the East, Extremadura to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South. Huelva and its metropolitan area have a Mediterranean climate, characterized by mild and wet winters and long warm to hot and dry summers.
The University of Huelva (Universidad de Huelva) is a public university founded in 1993. Almost 13.000 students attend the University of Huelva and about 15% are international students from Europe, Latin America and USA.
The university has 4 campuses. The main campus El Carmen is home to the Faculties of Sciences, Law, Humanities, Education, Psychology, Sport Sciences, Labor Sciences, Social Work, School of Nursing, state of the art computing facilities and the main library. It hosts the largest number of students.
The Business School is located in an historic 400-year-old building in the city center and is known as La Merced. The School of Engineering Studies has moved to the Campus El Carmen, but the labs and field work is carried out in the Campus la Rabida located in the outskirts of the city. The General Registry and administrative center are located at a separate site in Cantero Cuadro.
Curriculum and Student Life
The University of Huelva offers a comprehensive range of courses across its faculties. It offers courses in Spanish, English and English Friendly. The English Friendly subjects are taught in Spanish but the presentations and supplementary materials and exams are available in English.
Each semester, one week before the terms start, students are summoned to the Welcome Orientation Week. The exchange component includes presentations about the mandatory overseas student health insurance required by the Spanish government, immigration regulations, and health and safety. The general orientation includes introductions to the academic system, an opportunity to meet staff and professors in the various academic faculties, a student club fair, and a variety of daily social activities led by continuing students.
Students will find that University of Huelva provides plentiful opportunities for involvement. The University offers the opportunity for students to explore literary and artistic interests, as well as opportunities to interact with local students by joining Music, Cinema, Literature, Theater or Film Societies and other student and sports clubs.
Housing and Meals
The residence hall, , is located in the heart of the El Carmen Campus. Next to the University Library and close to faculties such as Education Sciences, Law and Experimental Sciences, the residence hall has a strategic location in the city. All residents staying at Residencia Universitaria Loop Homes El Carmen, must pay a monthly fee for accommodation, services and use of the facilities. There are several meal plan options ranging from full board, to half board to breakfast only.
There are also off campus options available to students. There are lots of renting possibilities in Huelva for most budgets. Students can rent a flat in the city or near the Campus El Carmen (Los Rosales, Fuentepiña, Avenida AndalucÃa).

- Language: Must have completed level 102 college Spanish
- Must have attended Â鶹ӰÊÓ full-time for at least one semester.
