FIRST YEAR STUDENTS - PLANNING YOUR FOUR YEAR SCHEDULE.

Below is a suggested schedule for the required core, however many of the courses are on rotation.  Your advisor can help you navigate the appropriate year to register for your dance core.

YEAR 1

SENIOR CAPSTONE PREPARATION

Students will prepare a capstone proposal in their junior year that should be submitted to their capstone advisor in March prior to the Advising appointment.  

Choreography Capstone

Students interested in pursuing a Senior Capstone are encouraged to complete the following courses:

  • Danc 323 Lighting Design for Dancers and Directors  (Production core)
  • Danc 401 Choreography II  (elective core)
  • Danc 302 Concert Production (elective core)

Dance Science, Dance Education Capstones (and other areas of interest)

Students interested in completing a dance science capstone  or in another area of interest are encouraged to complete an Independent Study / danc 395 spring of their junior to research topics of interest and to investigate prior research in the area.
