TORONTO -- Canada Goose is opening a U.S. headquarters in Denver as it beefs up operations south of the border.

The Toronto-based manufacturer of high-end, extreme-weather outerwear said Tuesday that the move is part of its strategy of bringing the company's iconic Canadian-made jackets to premium U.S. retail customers.

The new headquarters will house a retail showroom and a new sales team under the direction of Ian Widmer, director of U.S. sales, who has been with the company since 2009.
