Why Study Applied Science?

Students combine coursework from two traditional science majors, including:
- applied physics
- biology
- computer science
- environmental biology or chemistry
- kinesiology
- mathematics
As part of the Applied Science major, students also complete a senior capstone and possible internships in one of the fields of study.
What Can You Do with an Applied Science Major?
With a customized applied science major, students prepare for a variety of career paths, including working in environmental or health sciences, or toward careers with high-tech or biotech research companies.
An applied science major may also be helpful for students interested in teaching middle school or high school science with an integrated science endorsement. Interested students should consult with the College of Education about additional requirements.
