
Areas I Teach
Melissa is pleased to serve as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the School of CSD, supervising Â鶹ӰÊÓ students in the delivery of speech-language services in the Â鶹ӰÊÓ Psychology and Comprehensive Health Clinics. She teaches in the Â鶹ӰÊÓ and post-baccalaureate program, and is a coordinator of an interprofessional practice course with the College of Health Professions. She earned her Master’s degree from Portland State University and an underÂ鶹ӰÊÓ degree from Oregon State University. Her clinical background is in the provision of speech-language pathology services in skilled nursing and post-acute care settings. Melissa is an advocate for interprofessional practice within rehabilitation settings and also enjoys educating students about documentation, compliance, and reimbursement in healthcare. Her professional interests include working with clients with acquired brain injury, dementia, and other cognitive-linguistic challenges. Melissa is active in local and state organizations that support speech-language clinicians and the communities they serve. Melissa focuses her scholarship in clinical supervision and interprofessional education.
