Share

A truck driver was rescued from a rising river in Kenya on Wednesday.

Video provided by Sheldrick Wildlife Trust shows the wildlife conservation group's helicopter slowly being lowered above the Galana River, where a man was trapped in an overturned truck for more than six hours.

Crews then managed to grab hold of the man and bring him to safety inside the chopper.

The wildlife non-profit group said the man had been driving across the Galana-Kulalu causeway when the river suddenly flooded and surrounded the vehicle.

鈥淭he moment we received the call, our Aerial Unit sprang into action,鈥 Sheldrick Wildlife Trust said.
