1. Major clue in hunt for MH370?: of 122 objects in the Indian Ocean that might be from the missing plane, Malaysia announced Wednesday. The objects were seen close to where three other satellites previously detected objects, with the country鈥檚 defence minister calling the sightings "the most credible lead that we have." The images were taken Sunday and relayed by French-based Airbus Defence and Space.
2. Get out the shovels, Atlantic Canada: that is expected to hit the East Coast today, with significant snow forecast for all four Atlantic provinces. Nova Scotia and P.E.I. are expected to see the biggest accumulation, with up to 40-50 centimetres predicted. Meanwhile, in western Newfoundland, where strong winds are common, Environment Canada says gusts could peak at a blustering 160 km/h.

4. Washington state mudslide: on Wednesday, officials were still hoping to find survivors in the debris of a massive Washington state mudslide. Two bodies were recovered Tuesday, bringing the likely death toll to 24 although authorities are keeping the official toll at 16 until eight bodies located in the debris field are recovered. Scores are still missing.
5. Celeb split: Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin that they鈥檝e called it quits on their 10-year marriage.
