ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Newfoundland and Labrador's health minister and the Eastern Health authority are looking into concerns raised by the family of a 27-year-old man who's in a coma after contracting swine flu.
Trevor King's wife, Colleen, says he was a non-smoker with no underlying health problems when he became sick two weeks ago.
She says the Marystown man was sent home from the hospital in nearby Burin three times in a week before he was correctly diagnosed with H1N1.
He was airlifted to hospital in St. John's where he is now in an induced coma on a ventilator.
His wife says the Burin hospital repeatedly sent him home with instructions to take Tylenol -- Tamiflu was not offered.
On the third visit, King's wife says he was misdiagnosed with pneumonia, prescribed antibiotics and sent home again.
