LONDON - Amy Winehouse, the retro soul singer with the big beehive hairdo, has another woe to deal with.

She watched in tears from a court gallery today as a British judge ordered her husband held in custody on charges stemming from an alleged assault on a barman.

Blake Fielder-Civil is accused of conspiring with the victim and persuading him to withdraw as a witness.

Fielder-Civil and another man were to have gone on trial Monday.

Winehouse has won worldwide acclaim for her second album, "Back to Black.''

But she and her husband have also made headlines through erratic behaviour, health fears and reports of heavy drug use.

Winehouse spent time in rehab in August, cancelling a series of dates in Britain, the U.S. and Canada.
