Toronto gay rights organizations say they want to make sure everyone feels welcome at the Pan Am Games.
Fourteen organizations have come together to open PrideHouse, a safe space for gay and transgender athletes, officials and visitors at the Games.
It's the first PrideHouse at a Pan Am Games, and the first to receive support and collaboration from the organizing committee.
PrideHouse organizers say they hope Toronto's efforts to be inclusive will set a precedent for future international competitions.
A delegation from Rio de Janeiro, which will host the Olympic Games next year, is coming to learn about setting up its own PrideHouse.
The Pan Am Games start Friday and end on July 26th, with the Parapan Am Games to follow in August.
