TRENTON, Ont. - The body of the latest Canadian soldier to be killed in Afghanistan is scheduled to arrive at CFB Trenton in eastern Ontario on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.

Pte. Terry Street, 24, died last Friday when the vehicle he was in struck a roadside bomb west of Kandahar City.

Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean and Defence Minister Peter MacKay are expected to attend, but no members of the media will be allowed on the tarmac.

During a ramp ceremony in Kandahar on Saturday, Street was described as a "vibrant, keen, energetic, personable young soldier.''

Street, who was born in Hull, Que., served with the 2nd Battalion of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry based in Shilo, Man.

He is the 82nd Canadian soldier to die during the Afghanistan mission since 2002.
