A hospital official in Marseille, France, says a second person has died after the collapse of part of a stage being built for Madonna's world "Sticky and Sweet" tour concert.
The official says the British worker died Friday from injuries suffered in the accident.
A 53-year-old French worker was also killed in the Thursday accident that saw the roof of the set fall apart on top of several workers.
Eight others were injured, including an American who is in serious condition.
Marseille city hall said all the victims worked for Live Nation, which was preparing the show.
Madonna was in Udine, Italy, at the time of the accident. She cancelled Sunday's scheduled performance at the Marseille Velodrome, home to the Olympique Marseille soccer team, because of the accident.
"I am devastated to have just received this tragic news," the singer said in a statement published on her website.
"My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news," she added.
The cause of the roof collapse is not known, but police say a faulty power winch may have played a role.
