It seems NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman is picking up where Canadian Chris Hadfield left off.

The rookie space traveller, who arrived at the International Space Station two weeks ago, has been sending back a steady stream of fantastic pictures of our humble planet. And he hasn't been shy about gushing to his ever-growing Twitter following that he's pretty awestruck by what he's witnessing.

He also hasn't been afraid to admit that floating around in space is not easy as you might think.

The photogenic 38-year-old has also introduced us to "Giraffiti," an adorable stuffed giraffe his two daughters handed him before launch.

Over the weekend, Reid posted the first Vine video from space, an awesome stop-motion clip of a single orbit around Earth. "Sun never sets flying parallel w/terminator line," he explained in the looping clip.

While NASA has a huge social media presence and other American astronauts have posted pics from space, few have matched Wiseman's infectious and ingenuous enthusiasm.

Wiseman is due to stay at the space station until December, completing at least two spacewalks during his mission.
