Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are spoofing a viral online video featuring Jean Claude Van Damme to highlight their suffering.
In the original video, the Belgian martial artist does a split between two Volvo semitrailers driving backward. The ad has drawn more than 61 million views on YouTube. It is aimed at demonstrating the stability and precision of "Volvo Dynamic Steering."
In the Gaza video, a Palestinian slightly spreads his legs between two cars being pushed by others. The explanation is given in a voiceover while the stunt is performed: "Unfortunately there is no gas in town."
Gaza has been suffering fuel shortages caused by an Israeli and Egyptian blockade against its Hamas rulers.
The "Tashwesh" group behind the video says they hope it will draw attention to Gaza's ills.
