OTTAWA - The Supreme Court of Canada has refused to hear an appeal by Quebec City radio station CHOI to overturn a CRTC ruling.
CHOI wanted the high court to overturn a 2004 decision by the broadcast regulator not to renew it licence.
The Supreme Court said in Ottawa today it will not hear the station's appeal.
The CRTC had received numerous complaints about racist and offensive comments by on-air personnel and decided not to renew CHOI's broadcast licence.
However, CHOI has remained on the air since the CRTC's decision three years ago and the station was bought last fall by Quebec's Radio-Nord.
