Rosa Hwang

Rosa Hwang is an award-winning producer and journalist who has been with CTV NATIONAL 麻豆影视 for as long as Lisa LaFlamme has been the Chief Anchor. She first joined 麻豆影视 in 2011, producing Lloyd Robertson鈥檚 final newscast in the anchor chair and was promoted to Executive Producer in 2018.
Hwang has travelled around the world, producing major network specials for CTV such as the 100th anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, the 75th anniversary commemoration of D-Day, the Presidential Inauguration in Washington, the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Windsor, the Papal Conclave from Vatican City and from South Africa, the funeral service for Nelson Mandela.
Hwang has also produced all of LaFlamme鈥檚 major interviews 鈥 including Prince Harry, Benjamin Netanyahu, Malala Yousafzai, John Kerry, Bill Gates, Alex Trebek, Sting, Gordon Lightfoot, among others.
She has covered every Canadian election since 2000, first as a field producer, then as the Executive Producer (Broadcast) for CTV Election 2015 and CTV Election 2019. Prior to joining CTV NATIONAL 麻豆影视, Hwang worked for Global National in Vancouver and for the CBC in Calgary, Toronto, and Washington, where she covered the U.S. presidential primaries in 2003 and 2004, culminating in the 2004 presidential election. At the height of the war on terror, she was among the first journalists allowed access inside the U.S. detention centre in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Hwang is the recipient of multiple Canadian Screen Awards and RTDNA awards.
Born in Busan, South Korea, Hwang grew up in Calgary and graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in English and from Mount Royal University with a degree in Communications, specializing in Journalism.
She speaks English, Korean, and a bit of French.
