Donald Trump has called out Neil Young on Twitter, accusing the Canadian rocker of being a "total hypocrite."

Trump tweeted Wednesday that Young had recently come to his office to seek out money for an "audio deal." Trump also alleged that Young had invited him to his concert last week.

He then tweeted out a photo of himself and the musician shaking hands, and a photo of an agreement over stock purchases allegedly signed by Young, as apparent proof.

The Twitter outburst comes after Young's single "Rockin' in the Free World" was played as the celebrity businessman announced he was seeking the Republican Party's nomination for U.S. president last week.

The 1989 single was played as Trump strode onto a stage at the Trump Tower in New York City to announce his run. Young later said in that he had not authorized the use of his music during the high-profile announcement.

Young says he is endorsing Sen. Bernie Sanders in his bid for the Democratic nomination in the 2016 presidential election.

A press secretary for Trump later said the campaign would stop using the single .

Tweeting on this subject, Trump said that Neil Young's song was just one of 10 that had been selected for use, and he "didn't love it anyway."
