HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. - A dispute between two nine-year-old girls in New York has led to criminal charges against one of their mothers after police say she posted a Craiglist ad seeking sex and directed respondents to call the other mother.
Police say Margery Tannenbaum of Hauppauge (HAW'-pawg) on Long Island was cited for aggravated harassment.
Police allege she posted an online classified ad purporting to be from a women seeking sex with men and gave out the phone number of the mother of her daughter's rival to anyone who replied by email.
Tannenbaum did not answer her door on Friday and her attorney did not respond to telephone calls seeking comment.
Last year a jury convicted a Missouri mother for her role in a MySpace hoax that led to a 13-year-old committing suicide.
She is to be sentenced on May 18 and faces up to three years in prison.
