TRURO, N.S. - Charges are pending following the arrest of 12 people today in Nova Scotia in connection with a drug and tobacco network based in the Truro area.
RCMP say they conducted searches at 11 residences - one in the town of Truro and 10 more in Colchester County.
Police seized drugs, illegal cigarettes and a large amount of money.
Under proceeds of crime legislation, police also plan to seize cars, trucks, snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles.
Today's raids and arrests follow a nine-month investigation into a drug and tobacco ring that police say has been operating for years in the Truro area.
RCMP were assisted by the Halifax Regional Police and the Truro Police Service.
