ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - The inquiry into botched breast cancer tests in Newfoundland has been briefly adjourned after its counsel received an e-mail late Monday from the provincial government's lawyer.
Bern Scoff says he received a missive from Rolf Pritchard just before midnight last night.
Scoff said Pritchard's message contained attachments relating to events in July 2005 -- the time that former provincial health minister John Ottenheimer says his staff told the premier's office about problems with cancer testing.
Scoff says he hasn't seen the information contained in that e-mail before, and Justice Margaret Cameron granted him a one-hour adjournment to discuss its implications.
