JOHANNESBURG - A Zimbabwe opposition spokesman says threats of assassination have derailed plans for party leader Morgan Tsvangirai to return home.
Spokesman George Sibotshiwe says party officials received information from a "credible source'' that an attempt would be made today on the life of the Movement for Democratic Change leader.
He says Tsvangirai had planned to return today but is now postponing that indefinitely.
He says party officials are consulting with their own security experts and regional leaders.
Tsvangirai had hoped to campaign for the runoff election June 27.
