HARARE - President Robert Mugabe is reportedly threatening to go ahead and form his own government if the Zimbabwe opposition doesn't immediately sign a power-sharing agreement.
The state-controlled Herald newspaper says Mugabe has set a Thursday deadline for the opposition to accept the deal.
The Herald says Zimbabwe's long-time leader is blaming Britain for the refusal of opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai to agree to the deal.
Mugabe says Britain wants to "punish" him by forcing him into an agreement that would endanger his policy of seizing white-owned farmland to resettle poor blacks.
But Tsvangirai says the deal on offer would make him only a figurehead prime minister while leaving Mugabe's power intact.
