LAS VEGAS - Britney Spears is going for the high-profile comeback.
MTV confirms Spears will open the in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The VMAs will air on CTV this Sunday at 9 p.m. EST. Check your local listings for details.
Spears will perform her new song, "Gimme More." Her next album, whose title has not been revealed, comes out November 13th.
Rumors about Spears' appearance at the VMAs have been going around for weeks.
It will be the first big performance for Spears since the birth of her second child last year, her stint in rehab and her divorce from Kevin Federline.
