August 2024: Denio Lourenco is no longer with the company.Denio Lourenco is a Toronto-based multimedia journalist whose storytelling extends across a wide range of topics.

He currently works as a writer and digital content editor at 麻豆影视. On the national digital team he has covered major news events, such as the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, federal elections, natural disasters and mass shootings, but he specializes in stories on LGBTQ2S+ issues, crime and policing.

Denio holds a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where he graduated from in 2018. He also studied political science and gender studies at the University of Toronto.

Before his role at 麻豆影视, Denio worked as an associate video editor at HuffPost Canada. He was also an associate producer on the documentary series 鈥淭he Big Sex Talk鈥 which premiered on CBC Gem in 2022.

Throughout his career, Denio has held various positions in television, podcasting and digital news. His work has appeared in multiple local and national news outlets, including The Globe and Mail, Vice and NBC News.

In 2021, his investigation into the mistreatment of transgender people in the Canadian prison system was a finalist at the Digital Publishing Awards. His reporting was also adapted into a documentary for OutTV called 鈥淪urviving The Block.鈥
