TORONTO -- During Monday night鈥檚 English-language leaders鈥 debate, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau tried to position himself as a champion of the environment.
鈥淚n just four years, we鈥檝e reached three-quarters of the way to our 2030 targets, which we will meet and surpass,鈥 Trudeau said. He was referring to Canada鈥檚 commitment under the Paris Agreement to reduce the country鈥檚 annual gas emissions to 30 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030.
But a report from the federal government undermines Trudeau鈥檚 claim.
