KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI -- Two Kansas Citians are saying 鈥淲e鈥檒l Be Fine鈥� after attending one of Drake鈥檚 concerts at the T-Mobile Center. Bebe Gist and Jaime Jimenez say the rapper gave them a new meaning to life with a promise of US$20,000 Sunday.
鈥淲e are still shocked. It does not feel real,鈥� Gist said.
After learning Drake helped several fans during his 鈥業t鈥檚 All a Blur Tour- Big As the What鈥�, the couple decided to create a poster that said, 鈥淓xpecting our 1st baby in August.鈥�
In the 鈥淗eat of the Moment鈥�, with the help of surrounding fans, Drake noticed the couple.
鈥淵ou鈥檙e about to be a dad?鈥� Drake asked Jimenez. 鈥淲ell, I don鈥檛 know what you need for your baby鈥攑robably like a nice crib, stroller, probably take your girl on a nice vacation. I鈥檓 going to give you US$20,000.鈥�
The couple automatically felt 鈥淔ireworks.鈥�
鈥淭he fact that we didn鈥檛 even know that we could have a kid,鈥� Jimenez said. 鈥淣ow, not only is she a blessing but she also blessed us and helped us financially. She knew that her parents were stressed.鈥�
Gist and Jimenez already have plans for the money.
鈥淲e have some debt that we have accrued, and our goal was to have the debt paid off in time for the baby,鈥� Jimenez explained. 鈥淪o, we鈥檙e going to take the money and literally put it all toward debt.鈥�
To thank Drake, the future parents will name their baby June Aubrey Jimenez, a nod to the rapper鈥檚 birth name Aubrey.
鈥淲e can just show her the videos and be like, 鈥楾hat鈥檚 why we chose Aubrey,鈥欌�� Jimenez said. 鈥溾�榊ou鈥檙e our little angel from above.鈥欌��
鈥淚t鈥檚 just crazy how much he鈥檚 blessed us. We鈥檙e so appreciative of it,鈥� Gist said.
