Dr. Marvanova previously served as dean and professor of the Skaggs School of Pharmacy at the University of Montana. Between July 2020 and September 2021, she also served as acting dean of the College of Health, overseeing five other accredited health profession schools.

As Pacific contemplated its mission in the 1970s, it looked to health professions studies as a way to complement the traditional liberal arts. 

The Hillsboro Lions Club presented a check to the School of Audiology for the School of Audiology Legacy Scholarship Fund.

�鶹Ӱ�� faculty members and supporters have advocated for several years for recognition for a new class of dental care provider. This month, the Oregon Legislature signed on.

Pacific has built on a tradition of taking eye care to the community, where students and faculty provide real-world vision screening and treatment to underserved members of the community. The most visible symbol of this outreach is the Pacific EyeVan, an advanced mobile clinic that sees patients in church parking lots, migrant camps and schools.

�鶹Ӱ��’s School of Dental Hygiene Studies will participate in a pilot project to help determine the feasibility of adding a dental therapist to a patient’s dental care team. Dental therapists can perform many of the preventive treatments of a dental hygienist and some of the procedures a dentist provides, but do not hold doctorates in dentistry.

Jane’t Schab MA '18 has held to one mantra: Never give up. Through a challenging childhood, family tragedy, balancing school and family, and an enduring long-term bout with breast cancer, Schab has come back to that phrase time and again.

The profession of pharmacy is changing all the time, and through her three years in �鶹Ӱ��’s School of Pharmacy, Erin Wilson ’05, PharmD ’18, had a chance to see it all.

“The No. 1 thing that is lost in aphasia is words,” said Annabelle Watts SLP ’17. “I really hope participants who come here realize there is this gigantic world of communication and that here are all these other ways to facilitate that and have fun and re-engage with life and with their partner.”
