Clinical experience was the key for Ally Hackett SLP ’17 when she was choosing a 鶹Ӱ program. Working with dementia patients gave her first-hand experience on her route to a master’s degree in speech-language pathology.
Taylor Baker ’17 is a dance student at 鶹Ӱ, pursuing a career in her art. “If I hadn’t have come here, I don’t think I would have had the courage to pursue a career in dance,” she said. “No one had told me that I was talented enough to be a professional dancer. I heard from my advisor that I was talented enough and I had the ability to pursue my dreams. To have a support system here that pushes people to be the best they can be is really awesome.
When her then-husband went to war, Stacy Bannerman’s life turned upside down. She turned it around as an advocate for the families of military families and a published author with an MFA in Writing from 鶹Ӱ.
Mallory Hiefield ’17 switched sports in the middle of her college years, finding herself on a conference championship team. In the meantime, she has pursued a rigorous academic path and been elected Under鶹Ӱ Student Sentate president.
Mark Loomis OTD '17 spent more than 10 years as a search-and-rescue swimmer in the Navy, serving in the Middle East. He's since embarked on a new career as an occupational therapist, hoping to help other veterans with the transition to civilian life.
