A 29-year career culminating in the Office of the Surgeon General started with optometry school at Pacific. “Pacific was, and still is, a small school where, instead of being a number, you can become an individual," said Col. John Pyle OD '64. "I had a really good time there.”

Alumni Jim and Mary Fair Berglund are among Pacific’s most generous supporters, and daughter Julie Berglund Baker is following their lead.

Ralph Watkins '08 is a free spirit. Most recently, his wandering feet and �鶹Ӱ�� teaching degree took him to Shishmaref, Alaska, where he's principal of a small preK-12 school.

"I wouldn't be in the place I am if it wasn't for them," says Clint Rodreick '06, MAT '08.

Melissa Lowery '09 created a feature-length documentary, "Black Girl in Suburbia," about the experience of growing up Black in suburban Oregon. She continues the conversation, working in Portland-area high schools.

�鶹Ӱ�� helped launch George Long '63 on a 38-year career in weapons and defense — plus, the Athletic Hall of Fame inductee is still playing tennis.

Lifelong connections keep Bob '64 and Sunny (McGowan) Iboshi '67 connected to their alma mater.

Dorothy Schimke '64 came to Pacific when she was 4, when her father was head of the Chemistry Department. She's stayed part of the Pacific family throughout her lifetime.
