Â鶹ӰÊÓ welcomes alumnus David Scheidt, Jr. Ê»88 as the newest member of its Board of Trustees.
A business owner and executive with more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector, Scheidt was elected to the board at its December meeting and participated in his first board meeting March 7-8.
A 1988 Â鶹ӰÊÓ of Pacific with a degree in business, Scheidt is the chief executive officer of WP&H, LLC, a durable medical equipment sales company he cofounded in 2000 with his mother, Levy P. Bynum. With offices in five states and customers in all 50 states, the company serves active and retired service members and their families through TriCare Insurance under the names of Military Medical Services and Cal-Med HawaiÊ»i.
The business continues to be a family operation with Scheidt’s daughter and fellow Pacific alum, Olivia Scheidt ’14, serving as chief financial officer and his son, Damien, serving as a sales and marketing specialist.
Prior to founding WP&H, Scheidt spent 11 years as the corporate manager of procurement for PacificCare, where he managed $60 million in annual service contracts and served on the acquisitions and mergers team for the Santa Ana, California-based HMO.
In 2022, the Scheidt family established the Waianae Strong Scholarship Fund at the HawaiÊ»i Community Program, which assists students and Â鶹ӰÊÓs of Waianae High School who intend to leave HawaiÊ»i to pursue higher education, with preference given to students planning to enroll at Â鶹ӰÊÓ. The $10,000 renewable scholarship was established in memory of Scheidt’s brother, Darren, who died in February 2022.
Originally from Waianae, Hawaiʻi, Scheidt currently resides in Tustin, California. In addition to his Pacific degree, Scheidt earned an associate’s degree in business administration and management from Cerritos College in 1984.
