MONTREAL - The son of Montreal Canadiens legend Guy Lafleur is being allowed to leave the drug treatment centre where he has been confined for the past six weeks.
Today in Montreal, Quebec court Judge Robert Sansfacon granted Mark Lafleur the chance to take part in organized activities with the centre and visit his parents under strict supervision. The younger Lafleur faces 22 charges, including sexually assaulting a minor, armed assault, uttering threats and forcible confinement relating to alleged incidents between 2004 and 2007.
The 22-year-old Lafleur has been ordered to stay in the treatment program for a minimum of four months pending his criminal trial.
Guy Lafleur says he is happy his son will be able to come home every two weeks.
Mark Lafleur, who reportedly has Tourette's syndrome, is due back in court on July 6.
