TORONTO - The Public Health Agency says H1N1 activity in Canada continues to subside, dipping for the third straight week.
The agency's weekly update, FluWatch, says widespread activity is limited to two small pockets of the country, in central Saskatchewan and along the south and east coasts of Newfoundland.
It says activity for the week ending Dec. 5, the most recent data available, was moderate and within the range that would be expected at this time of year.
Hospitalizations, ICU admissions and deaths all dropped significantly from the week before.
There were 307 people admitted to hospital with H1N1 flu, 83 admitted to ICUs and 33 who died across the country.
The World Health Organization says pandemic flu activity is on the decline in North America and in parts of western, northern, and eastern Europe, but is still increasing in parts of central and southeastern Europe, as well as in south and east Asia.
