REGINA - Flooding in Saskatchewan has forced Premier Brad Wall to abandon plans to attend the western premiers meeting in Yellowknife.
The Saskatchewan government says arrangements have been made for deputy premier Ken Krawetz to go to the Northwest Territories in Wall's place.
Wall will instead tour the Saskatchewan command centre that oversees flood evacuation plans and relief efforts.
Communities across southeastern Saskatchewan are dealing with flooded homes, businesses and roads after days of rain.
The premiers were waiting for Wall to join them before discussing
floods and forest fires across the Prairies this spring.
The premiers are in Fort Simpson today to attend National Aboriginal Day celebrations before they wrap up their meeting Wednesday.
