OTTAWA - Finance Minister Jim Flaherty says he will have "three E's" at the top of his to-do list when Parliament resumes sitting Monday.
Flaherty, who is preparing to release the Conservative government's budget in March, said Thursday that he has talked to his constituents and they want action on the economy, the environment and energy prices.
"Energy, because people are conscious about gas prices and natural gas prices, which have gone down, but they're conscious of their day-to-day costs of living, which relates to energy largely," he told reporters.
"And then the environment, environmental issues because people want to be environmentally sensitive. And then economic issues. They want to make sure they can pay their bills, have good jobs and raise their families."
Flaherty also reiterated that he intends to address the so-called fiscal imbalance among the provinces.
Conservative MPs and senators are holding a series of meetings in Ottawa this week preparing for Parliament to resume sitting.
