BRUSSELS, Belgium - European Union's main mobile phone producers say they will launch one-size-fits-all cellphone charger.
Fourteen main mobile phone producers announced Tuesday that the common plug standard will simplify life for users, reduce electronic waste and consumer aggravation.
They said the common charger will start being gradually introduced later this year.
The companies involved are Apple, Emblaze Mobile, Huawei Technologies, LGE, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, Qualcomm, Research in Motion (RIM), Samsung, SonyEricsson, TCT Mobile, Texas Instruments and Atmel.
