Audiences at Elton John鈥檚 concert in Verona, Italy got an earful on Thursday, when 鈥� in-between songs 鈥� the crooner let loose against the U.K.
鈥淚 am a European,鈥� said John, sitting at his piano onstage. 鈥淣ot a stupid, colonial, imperialist, English idiot.鈥�
John also commented that he was 鈥渟ick to death of Brexit鈥� and of 鈥減oliticians 鈥� especially British ones.鈥�
Before launching into his song 鈥淏elieve,鈥� John told the audience that he 鈥渨ants more love in the world鈥� after despairing over the antics of his home country.
鈥淚鈥檓 ashamed of my country, and what it has done,鈥� he said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 torn people apart.鈥�
John is currently on his final world tour after decades in the music industry.
