Twentieth Century Fox has released a new trailer for the next installment of the Planet of the Apes franchise, which pits the leaders of the apes and humans against each other in an epic face-off.
In the two-minute trailer for "War for the Planet of the Apes," humans and apes draw their weapons in a battle that will determine the fate of both their species.
"I did not start this war," says Caesar in the opening scene.
"I offered you peace. I showed you mercy. But now you're here to finish us off. For good."
For his part, the Colonel justifies war by saying: "This is our last stand. And if we lose, it will be a planet of apes."
The film is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Karin Konoval, Amiah Miller and Terry Notary.
"War for the Planet of the Apes" opens July 14, 2017.
