American actress Lindsay Lohan livestreamed a video in which she apparently believed she was trying to rescue refugee children, although some people who saw the video questioned whether her actions could better be described as an attempted kidnapping.

In a dramatic video that has since been removed from her social media account, the 32-year-old celebrity approaches a family of what she says are Syrian refugees who are sitting on a sidewalk. She offers them a hotel room, suggesting that the boys could watch movies on a TV or computer.

When they appear to refuse her offer and walk away, she follows them.

鈥淟ooks what鈥檚 happening. They鈥檙e trafficking children,鈥 Lohan claims in the video, which has been . 鈥淚 won鈥檛 leave until I take you.鈥

She trails the family along sidewalks and across an unknown street in what is thought to be Moscow, Russia, based on earlier Instagram posts. The family is seen pulling suitcases and carrying blankets as Lohan attempts to speak to them in another language. She then accuses them of 鈥渞uining Arabic culture.鈥

鈥淵ou鈥檙e taking these children. They want to go,鈥 she says. 鈥淚鈥檓 with you boys, don鈥檛 worry. The whole world is seeing this right now.鈥

As she continues to follow the family, Lohan is heard saying 鈥済ive me your hand鈥 before the video gets shaky and she apparently falls to the ground.

鈥淚鈥檓 like in shock right now,鈥 she says through tears as the group walks away. 鈥淚 literally can鈥檛. I don鈥檛 think I can ever change what I want鈥︹

The video was livestreamed to millions of her Instagram followers, some of whom commented on the stream with confusion and criticism. 鈥淚s she kidnapping them?鈥 posted one user. 鈥淭here is so much wrong with this right now,鈥 wrote another. 鈥淭his is straight up exploitation.鈥
