There was no shortage of love for Canadians during the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.

Here are a few of the moments that made Canadians proud.

Moss dedicates win to Margaret Atwood

Elisabeth Moss dedicated her Golden Globe Award win to Canadian literary legend Margaret Atwood.

The Los Angeles-born star won the best actress in a television drama category for her role in 鈥淭he Handmaid's Tale,鈥� an adaptation of Atwood鈥檚 best-selling novel.

In her acceptance speech at the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Moss read a quote from the Canadian author鈥檚 1985 novel.

鈥淲e were the people who were not in the papers. We lived in the blank white spaces at the edge of print. It gave us more freedom. We lived in the gaps between the stories,鈥� Moss said.

鈥淢argaret Atwood, this is for you and all of the women who came before you, and after you, who were brave enough to speak out against intolerance and injustice and to fight for equality and freedom in this world," Moss added.

鈥淲e no longer live in the blank white spaces at the edge of print,鈥� Moss went on. 鈥淲e no longer live in the gaps between the stories. We are the stories in print. And we are writing the story ourselves.鈥�

High praise for director Jean-Marc Vallee

Hollywood A-listers Nicole Kidman and Laura Dern lauded Montreal-born director Jean-Marc Vallee for his work on the HBO series 鈥淏ig Little Lies.鈥�

Kidman won the best actress in a limited TV series or TV movie for her role. She said the win would not have been possible without the 鈥渕astery鈥� of Vallee and writer David E. Kelly.

Dern won the best supporting actress in a limited TV series or TV movie. She called Vallee a 鈥渇earless leader.鈥�

Christopher Plummer wears Order of Canada pin

Eagle-eyed Canadian viewers were quick to point out that Toronto-born actor Christopher Plummer was sporting his Order of Canada pin during Sunday鈥檚 ceremony.

The accessory grabbed the attention of a number of Canadian Twitter users who offered 鈥渒udos鈥� and called
him a 鈥渃lass act.鈥�

Plummer was nominated in the best performance by an actor in a supporting role in a motion picture category for his role in 鈥淎ll the Money in the World.鈥�

He replaced Kevin Spacey in the Ridley Scott film after sexual misconduct allegations involving the 鈥淗ouse of Cards鈥� star surfaced in late 2017. The film is based on John Pearson鈥檚 1995 book titled 鈥淧ainfully Rich: The Outrageous Fortunes and Misfortunes of the Heirs."

Plummer lost in the category to Sam Rockwell in "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri."

Plummer became a Companion of the Order of Canada in 1968. He also has a star of Canada鈥檚 Walk of Fame in his native city.
