We are committed to building a thriving community where folks can show up, be seen, and appreciated in all their brilliance. We follow bell hooks’ lead in All 鶹Ӱ Love, where she draws upon M. Scott Peck’s work to define community as the “coming together of a group of individuals who have learned to communicate honestly with each, whose relationships go deeper than their masks of composure, and who have developed some significant commitment to rejoice together, mourn together, and to delight in each other, and make other’s conditions our own.” To achieve this vision, we provide the following pathways to partner with the Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility to foster EDIA growth.
Your knowledge and experiences of our campus and campus community are invaluable. You can use this . Even if we are unable to directly implement what you share, your ideas influence our broader goals and initiatives. We look forward to receiving your suggestions and the conversations and partnership that may arise from them.
Tell us about experiences that prevent you from fully showing up at 鶹Ӱ. you contribute to our campus climate measure that enables us identify incidents and trends that disrupt 鶹Ӱ’s mission of creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Although every report won’t result in a direct intervention, all reports will shape the strategic initiatives that the Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility engages in to foster a campus climate defined by inclusive excellence. When reported bias incidents or trends rise to a level of severity and/or frequency that requires an intervention, the OEDIA uses the bias incident report as the starting point for a process that seeks to support all parties involved in working through and finding a resolution to the incident. You can learn more about the Bias Incident Reporting System here.
