Become a Global Scholar
Do you plan for a career working with people who come from different backgrounds or speak different languages? Global Scholars will give you the knowledge, skills, and experience to interact effectively with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
We invite all current and transfer students, from any major, to become Global Scholars.
You are especially encouraged to join if you speak a second language, or come from diverse ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds. No prior international experience is required. First-year students start with Global Scholars FYS. Current or transfer students start by enrolling in HUM 201 Global Scholars Seminar in the fall semester.
Enroll for the fall in the new HUM 201 Global Scholars Seminar (2 credits). The Global Scholars Seminar is your entry point to the Global Scholars Program, a new pathway that allows you to integrate international and diverse perspectives into your degree.
In this exploratory seminar you will
- develop improved intercultural competence (with a concrete plan for future growth)
- explore how global learning (that is, international and diverse perspectives) integrates with your major academic interests.
- map out a 4-year academic plan to integrate the requirements of the Global Scholars pathway
- research study abroad and internship options that work for your circumstances
Instructor permission is required to register. Contact Erica Andree, the course instructor, at erica.andree@pacificu.edu.
